GO AWAY
Weather was fine all day, and I was sooo pumped up for a good game of tennis tonight. Then it had to go and bloody well start raining as I got in from work. That's Melbourne for ya. As Neil Finn best described it in his little ode to the city. "Four Seasons In One Day". That's two washouts in two consecutive weeks. One more and I'll miss the Grand Final.

MILLION DOLLAR HOTEL
Rented the M$H last night. Enjoyed it the first time and enjoyed probably more the second. Despite the varied but mostly trashy reviews it's had, I do actually think this is a pretty good piece of film. There are some parts early on that seem to be a little slow but by the end it all comes together nicely and well, after watching it again, it was easier to make sense of it all and work out was was actually going on. It's evident the story was largely written by Bono. I thought alot of the poetry, dialogue and ideas in the film were very typically him. The ideas of televsion vs reality, love vs betrayal, normality vs chaos, life vs death.

Wow..After I jumped it occured to me life is perfect, life is the best, full of magic and beauty, opportunity..and television!... and surprises, lot's of surprises, and then there's the best stuff of course better than anything anyone ever made up..Cause It's Real.
SUMO WRESTLING
The last place you'd expect to see a fight break out is in a small suburban Chinese Restaurant. Saturday night it was all on baby. At first no one, including myself, knew what the hell was going on. Was all very strange.

Three groups of people at three tables doing there own thing. Some people at table one (young crowd, large group) were smoking. People at table two (Middle aged men with wives) didn't like this so proceeded to open front door to let fresh air in. (Asking people at table one to refrain from lighting up was obviously to difficult) Male at table three (also middled aged couples) didn't like the cold breeze so therefore closed door. Aggressive male at table two didn't like this and threatened to beat the living daylights out of bloke at table three. Oh yeah did I mention all people involved were somewhat drunk. So anyway, a fight breaks out with four people from table two and three getting involved. People from table one jump up and break it up. Poor chinese waitress caught up in the middle of it. The girlfriend of a guy on table one who's birthday is being celebrated decides to start screaming and yelling at top note at the brawlers involved. Obviously upset that the night has somewhat been ruined. Fight calms down, but smart arse comments follow from every which direction. People from table two leave not long after. People from table one proceed to drink, smoke and talk to people on table three.

Confused? Good! Probably the most action that restaurant has ever seen. We tipped the waitresses nice and good at the end of the night.

VIEW FROM A FORD
My view
V2001
Got tickets for the V2001 festival just outside of London in August. Some good acts lined up as well. Chilli Peppers, Coldplay, Powderfinger, Placebo, Neil Finn, The Avalanches etc etc etc It's a weekend camping ticket, which means little sleep for a few days. Can't wait. Although I was just informed that Barnsey is now also on the bill. Ugh... Remind me to be somewhere else when he's performing.
BLACKOUT
VIDEO
Watched the film Meet the Parents tonight. And well I must say, I thought it was pretty funny. Sure the humour was a little over the top and all (Hmmm do I even know what i mean by that?) but hey, humour like that is often good to just sit back to, relax and have a good laugh. Very laid back.

DIGITAL
Been borrowing the digital camera from work every so often as of late. Those things are great I tell ya. Have been happily snapping away. I'll try and get some more photos up here every so often. Took some last night of the Australian U2 Show.

GOOD FOOD SHOW
Spent the last couple of days working at the Good Food Show over at the Exhibition Buildings. Our company had a stand where we showcased some of our products via display and demo's/tastings. I really enjoyed working over the long weekend, didn't bother me one bit that I had to work whilst everyone else was taking a day off for Her Majesty, the Queen. Guess I love crowds and the thrill of being amongst it all to. Keeps me sane, as opposed to being locked up in the same place with the same people on any other normal working day. Oh yeah and the quality of women present over the weekend was also exceptional. One tends to enjoy work more whilst surrounded by hot looking females. The eyes had a huge workout!

STREETS

FORE
Pulled out the golf clubs today for the first time in years. Had a bash with the cousin's down at Royal Ivanoe public golf course. First tee off went a bloody mile, on the wrong fairway, but that's beside the point. My whole game overall was pretty tidy actually, despite an always crap short game. Ended up with 48 for 9 holes.
BEER
The Foster's Brewing Group website. One that pays respect to Australian Beer. It's gotta be good for footy. I dedicate this find to Patsy. Happy Birthday!

Crown Lager has a distinctive flavour and is brewed using only the finest ingredients to deliver a creamy fruit taste and rich, malty palate.

ANOTHER DAY
Another mellow weekend, was home by midnight tonight (Saturday). Caught up with Hamo for a few quiet ale's then came home. Probably the best way to have it to, what, with all that's going on in my life at the moment. Have been spending lots of time with the family over the last few days. It's been comforting. So now i'm messing around on here and I come across a website for the legendary Big Kev. Time to go to bed me thinks.
